Skiles Named Director of Athletic Fundraising
Jesse Skiles has been named Director of Athletic Fundraising at Glenville State College. His appointment as the newest member of GSC’s Advancement Team took effect January 8.
GSC Fitness Center Holds Grand Reopening
The Glenville State College Fitness Center held its grand reopening on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. The facility has been fully updated with all new equipment along with new floors, mirrors, and fresh paint.

On Thursday, February 1 the public is invited to attend a presentation at Glenville State College by Mr. Masaru Sato, the Deputy Consul General of Japan in New York and Director of the Japan Information Center.
Students Named to Fall 2017 Honor Lists at GSC
The names of students who attained the Glenville State College President’s and Vice President’s Honor Lists for the Fall 2017 semester have been announced.
Health and Human Performance Programs Available at GSC
At Glenville State College, programs are available in Health Promotion, Exercise Science, and Athletic Conditioning and Coaching. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment is expected to grow through 2024 for careers related to those programs including athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, fitness trainers, and more. GSC’s Department of Health and Physical Education prepares students for careers and further education in a variety of in-demand fields.
Winter Homecoming will Celebrate Black History Month at GSC
Glenville State College will celebrate Black History Month on Saturday, February 3 during Winter Homecoming when a proclamation will be unveiled and read that afternoon between the Women’s and Men’s Basketball games. Special honorees at this unveiling will be GSC’s black students from the 1960s and 70s who have come back to campus as individuals who paved the way for future black students at Glenville State. GSC’s Inaugural Hall of Famer Bob Minnieweather ‘67, a phenomenal student athlete, will be memorialized at this event.
Rural Health Grant to Benefit GSC Health Science Students
The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission has awarded a grant to the West Virginia Rural Health Association (WVRHA) that will provide a one year subscription to the Association’s WV Health Data Portal, training, and printed tutorials to Glenville State College and nine other higher education institutions.
