Online via Zoom
Presented by GSU Department of Language and Literature, the Appalachian Studies Program, and the Robert F. Kidd Library
Explore the art of ultra-short storytelling in this dynamic flash prose workshop led by Melissa Gish, GSU Associate Professor of English and author of more than 130 books spanning a 30-year writing career. Learn complete narratives in 750 words or less, honing your skills in concision, imagery, and impact. We'll study masterful examples, examine various genres, and practice techniques to hook readers instantly. Discover how to distill deep meaning into a few paragraphs and leave lasting impressions with minimal words.
This workshop is ideal for both beginners and experienced writers looking to sharpen their craft. Participants can expect generative prompts, personalized feedback from the teaching artist, and the opportunity to polish a flash piece.
There is a $10 registration fee (waived for GSU students). Registration is limited.
Registration deadline is February 7, 2025.
