GSC Fall 2014 President's Honor List Announced
The Glenville State College Fall 2014 President's Honor List has been announced. To be named to the list, students must have a 4.0 grade point average and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.
GSC Student Named Outstanding Accounting Senior in WV
The West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants has selected GSC student Ashley Woodford as their Outstanding Accounting Senior. The annual award recognizes seniors majoring in accounting from colleges and universities across West Virginia.
GSC Group Presents at National Conference
Glenville State College students and professors recently presented at the International Writing Centers Association (IWCA) and the National Council of Peer Tutors of Writing (NCPTW) joint three-day conference held at Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort in Florida. Assistant Professors of English Dr. Marjorie Stewart and Dr. Melody Wise along with students Larissa DeLuca and Annetta Snyder presented a 75-minute session at the event.
Glenville State College Well Represented at WVRA
Glenville State College students and faculty took part in the West Virginia Reading Association's (WVRA) 59th Annual State Conference at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs in late November. The conference theme, 'Reading with the Arts: Off the Charts,' honored the arts and their connection to literacy.
Dawson Scholarship Established at GSC
The Glenville State College Foundation is pleased to announce the formation of the Bill and Patsy (Garrett) Dawson Scholarship. This scholarship, which is designed to support GSC students in the education and physical education fields, was funded with life insurance proceeds upon the passing of Mr. Dawson in November of 2014.
GSC Honors Long-Time Employees
Glenville State College honored fourteen faculty and staff at its annual Service Awards Luncheon on Friday, December 12th in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom. GSC President Dr. Peter Barr presented service award pins and certificates of appreciation for their years of service to Glenville State College.
GSC Brass Ensemble to Perform at Charleston Town Center Mall
The Glenville State College Brass Ensemble will again be entertaining shoppers at the Charleston Town Center Mall on Saturday, December 20th with a selection of holiday music. They will be performing from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Macy’s Court in the mall on what is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year, the Saturday before Christmas.
