Jazz Concert Planned at GSC
Members of the Glenville State College Jazz Combo and Jazz ‘Big Band’ are preparing for their spring concert which will be held on Tuesday, April 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
GSC Financial Aid Workers Complete Training
Two employees of Glenville State College’s Office of Financial Aid, Mary Jones and Stephany Harper, recently were certified in several nationally-recognized programs. After attending two days of financial aid training and taking ten separate tests, the pair received certification in: federal methodology, cost of attendance, student eligibility, return of Title IV funds, verification, campus-based programs, professional judgment, direct loans, packaging and notification of awards, and the application process.
District V Literature Fair Held at GSC
Over eighty students from around the area gathered recently at Glenville State College for a Literature Fair sponsored by District V of the West Virginia Reading Association (WVRA).
GSC Students Present at Undergraduate Research Day
The 12th annual Undergraduate Research Day was held in the West Virginia State Capitol rotunda on Wednesday, March 4th. Undergraduate Research Day is sponsored by the Higher Education Policy Commission Division of Science and Research and the West Virginia Department of Education and the Arts.
Annual Student Art Show Winners Announced
Winners of the eighth annual Glenville State College Juried Student Art Show have been announced. The show was open to any full time GSC student who wished to submit pieces of original art created during their college career.
GSC Radio Back Online
Glenville State College’s radio station is back online with music and news for the campus and community. After being off the air for a few months, GSC radio is back on an updated platform. The radio service carries music, campus events, and sports, academic, and cultural news. The station also features a daily radio newscast.
Business Department Recognizes Distinguished Students
The Glenville State College Business Department recently announced its list of Distinguished Business Students for 2015. Recognition of these top twenty-five business students is based on multiple criteria including academic achievement, class rank, campus involvement, and leadership in department classes and programs. Additionally, some students are recognized for specific departmental awards.
Bone, Dody Join Voice and Euphonium at Marshall
The Marshall University School of Music and Theatre welcomed guest artists Teresa Dody, Lloyd Bone and John Mark Walkup Thursday for "Eclectic Passions: Songs of Life and Love," an euphonium and vocal recital.
