Recent GSC grad turns internship into full-time job
Glenville State College graduate Joe Evans is already putting his degree to good use. Evans just walked across the commencement stage on May 14, but is already working full-time. Fortunately for him he knows his employer well, he interned there while he was still a student.
GSC Fitness Center Sponsoring 5K Walk/Run and Fastest Kid Contest
Lace up your tennis shoes runners and walkers because the 5K Walk/Run and Fastest Kid in Town contest are both back for a second year. In coordination with the West Virginia State Folk Festival, the 5K will take place on June 18 at 8:00 a.m.
GSC's Daniel Sambu Earns Doctorate Degree
Daniel Sambu, Glenville State College Instructor of Geography with the Department of Social Science has earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Geography Degree from the University of Oklahoma.
GSC SIFE Chapter Collecting Food for the Hungry
The GSC SIFE team has pledged to collect 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food items by mid-April that will be donated to local food pantries to help families in Gilmer County and the surrounding areas.
GSC Business Department Offering Free Tax Return Assistance
Free income tax return assistance is once again available on the Glenville State College campus through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Tuesday April 12th will be the final day this free service will be available.
GSC Commencement to be Green
When the Class of 2011 at Glenville State College walks across the stage on May 14th to receive their diplomas, the caps and gowns they will be wearing will be black in color, but they will also be green.
Alumni Day at GSC Slated for April 16th
Final plans for this year's Glenville State College Alumni Day on April 16, 2011 have been made. All alumni and friends of the College are invited back to campus for this event.
GSC to Increase the Number of Hidden Promise Scholars
School superintendents from several West Virginia counties that have partnered with Glenville State College to form the Hidden Promise Consortium (HPC) met at Glenville State College on Friday, March 25 to discuss the program and make plans for the future.
