Glenville, WV – Joe Evans, a 2011 GSC marketing and business education graduate, is already experiencing positive effects from his education at GSC. Before the commencement ceremony on May 14th, Evans already had four distinguished job offers from organizations, companies, and schools around the state. “Throughout my time at GSC I learned the importance of networking. It was at the annual GSC Career Fair where I met my new employer,” said Evans.

Evans, from Shady Spring, interned for B/E Aerospace during the summer of 2010, a very competitive marketing internship that many from larger schools applied for. He learned first-hand how the business worked, completed many projects and presented them to senior executives, and got to know many employees of the company. He will be returning to B/E Aerospace as a full-time employee in their marketing department.

“This internship was the best learning experience of my life. After interning, I knew I had to apply early for a job after graduation and it paid off,” said Evans. GSC Vice President of Enrollment Management Duane Chapman said, “This is just another example of how GSC produces well-rounded students that will become the next generation’s leaders.”

During his time at GSC, Evans completed marketing internships at B/E Aerospace and the Best Western Glenville Inn, was a student teacher at Gilmer County High School, played on the golf team for four years and also served as the GSC Assistant Golf Coach, and was a Resident Assistant. He was a two-time Distinguished Business Student winner; having won the Outstanding Business Education Award and the Outstanding Intern Award.
