Celebration of Words Event Planned at GSC on February 21
Faculty members in Glenville State College’s Department of Language and Literature are planning a Celebration of Words event in the Robert F. Kidd Library on Thursday, February 21, at 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Glenville State Graduate Appears on Wheel of Fortune
A Glenville State College alumna won big on a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune. Amy Perkins, a Special Education teacher at Flatwoods Elementary School, graduated from GSC in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education.
Glenville State and Stonewall Jackson Memorial Sign Memorandum of Understanding
Glenville State College and Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital (SJMH) have announced a new partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting post-secondary educational opportunities for SJMH employees, spurring economic development in Lewis and Gilmer Counties, strengthening connections between the two institutions, and broadening student experiences in real work settings.
Free Income Tax Preparation Assistance Available at GSC
Free income tax preparation assistance is being offered through a partnership between the Internal Revenue Service and the Glenville State College accounting program to help students, faculty, staff, and local residents file their basic federal and West Virginia income tax returns.
Weyerhaeuser Awards Equipment Grant to GSC
Continuing in their tradition of helping students learn in a hands-on environment with the latest tools and technology, the Weyerhaeuser Company has again awarded Glenville State College’s Department of Land Resources an equipment grant.
Founders Day of Giving Planned at GSC
Glenville State College was established on February 19, 1872. This year, on the 147th anniversary of GSC’s establishment by the state legislature, the College will be hosting a Founders Day of Giving crowd funding campaign.
GSC To Host Murder Mystery Dinner on February 15
Glenville State College will host a murder mystery event on Friday, February 15 in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom. A social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. which includes beverages and appetizers, followed by the murder mystery show and dinner at 7:00 p.m.
