GSC Students Help RFK Library Recycle

Glenville State College students in Dr. Gary Arbogast’s GSC 100 class recently helped move over 100 boxes of old books being removed from the Robert F. Kidd Library. The books, which were hauled away for recycling, were out-of-date law books that have since been replaced by online resources.
Red Cross Blood Drive Coming to GSC August 24

Staff and students in the Glenville State College Student Support Services organization are helping to sponsor an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, August 24 from noon until 5:30 p.m. The drive will take place in the Mollohan Campus Community Center third floor ballroom.
Event to Feature GSC Marching Band

The Glenville State College 'Wall of Sound' Marching Band will have a feature performance at the Glenville Presbyterian Church 'Band Bash' coming up on Friday, August 21. The event will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the band performance beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Orientation Weekend for New Students Ushers in Fall Semester at GSC

Over 300 freshmen arrived on campus at Glenville State College on Friday, August 14 for the 2015 fall term. Glenville State College's class of 2019 is made up of students from throughout West Virginia, fourteen other states, and the District of Columbia.
Service of Blessing Held at GSC

An ecumenical 'Blessing of the College' event took place on Wednesday, August 13 at Glenville State College. Students, faculty, and staff were in attendance for the service that aimed to offer a time of reflection and prayer for the upcoming school year.
HSTA Campers Return to GSC

Again this year, Glenville State College was the site of a Health Sciences & Technology Academy (HSTA) summer camp. The 2015 camp incorporated a presentation to Gilmer County Magistrate Carol Wolfe. Each group of students had to process a crime scene, analyze the evidence, and prepare a presentation regarding their evidence requesting an arrest warrant for their suspect. The presentations took place at the Gilmer County Court House.
GSC Courses to be Offered this Fall at BCHS

Glenville State College is continuing its tradition of offering a wide array of evening classes in Braxton County to accommodate students who might have difficulty making it to the GSC campus to take classes during the day. Several weekly evening Glenville State College courses are scheduled to be held this Fall at Braxton County High School in the Braxton County Center.

Minton Receives GSC Faculty Award of Excellence

Glenville State College's newest Faculty Award of Excellence recipient is Associate Professor of English Dr. Jonathan Minton. He received the award at the 141st Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 9.
