Tracy L. Pellett Selected as Next GSC President
Dr. Tracy L. Pellett has been selected to serve as the twenty-fourth leader of Glenville State College by the College’s Board of Governors. Pellett will succeed Dr. Peter Barr on July 1, 2017; Barr announced his intention to retire last year.
Campus Community Mourns Loss of Local Student
Ethyn Eric Miller, a freshman at Glenville State College, was killed in an automobile accident on Thursday morning. The crash occurred on Route 5 West between Glenville and Grantsville near the Gilmer/Calhoun County line.
Shale Gas Exploration and Production Presentation Scheduled at GSC
Members of the Glenville State College Environmental Organization will host a presentation about the ‘Impacts of Shale Gas Exploration and Production on Rural Communities in WV’ by Bill Hughes on Wednesday, March 15, beginning at noon. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on the third floor of the Mollohan Campus Community Center in room 315.
GSC Jazz Combo to Open for Award-Winning Musician
Members of the Glenville State College Jazz Combo have been invited to perform as the opening act for Downbeat Award winning jazz pianist Monika Herzig at an upcoming local performance. The event will take place in Clarksburg, West Virginia at the Bridgeport Conference Center on Saturday, April 22.
Brass and Woodwind Concert on March 16 at GSC
The annual Glenville State College Brass Ensemble and Woodwind Ensemble Concerts will be held on Thursday, March 16 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
Winter Open House Planned at GSC
Glenville State College invites future Pioneers to attend the upcoming Winter Open House on Saturday, February 25 at 9:00 a.m. on the GSC campus.
