Pre-Osteopathic Medicine Program
Partnership with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Glenville State University has partnered with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) to offer a path for GSU students to gain guaranteed acceptance into the POMP program at WVSOM.
This program will ensure that students will have the opportunity to network with medical students, medical professionals, provide/assist with shadowing opportunities, while at the same time improving their knowledge of osteopathic medicine.
The Pre-Osteopathic program is a partnership established between WVSOM and affiliate undergraduate institutions. The program is designed for undergraduate students who have an interest in osteopathic medicine and plan to enter osteopathic medical school.
To be eligible for the program, one must be:
- Currently enrolled at Glenville State University or another affiliate school
- A college sophomore
- A science GPA of 3.4 or higher
- A U.S. resident or permanent citizen
- Have completed 8 credit hours of biology with labs
- Have completed 8 credit hours of general chemistry with labs
