Outcomes Assessment
Glenville State University is committed to educating students to be thoughtful, productive, engaged and responsible citizens. Furthermore, the University is committed to upholding rigorous expectations for teaching and learning through a comprehensive system of assessment. This commitment requires assessment of the outcomes of the co-curricular programs and services of the University as well as its academic programs and support services.
In terms of academic programs, the University’s assessment program focuses on authentic assessment requiring students to demonstrate skills, knowledge, and attributes at prescribed points in their degree programs. Individual academic departments determine an appropriate content specific means of assessment of student learning for their respective disciplines and utilize these measures to address curricular changes and other areas of needed improvement.
Periodic comprehensive reviews of academic program and related support services are required to ensure appropriate levels of student learning and attention to continuous improvement. Information on these comprehensive reviews and related annual reviews can be found in the following documents.
