All degree candidates who are walking for graduation are required to wear the appropriate academic regalia: cap, gown, and tassel. Graduating students will be able to make purchases Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Spirit Shop, which is located in the Mollohan Campus Community Center.
If unable to make purchases during these days, students must e-mail Mandy Wiant to make arrangements to get their cap and gowns. The cost is $30 plus tax. Business casual apparel is expected for students who are walking in graduation: dress clothes and closed toe shoes. This is a formal event, therefore the only accessories that are to be worn with the cap and gown will be honor stoles or cords that are from officially recognized academic honor societies and groups. If students have achieved institutional academic honors, overall GPA of 3.50 or higher, they will receive honor cords from GSC.
Graduation is Saturday, May 18 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Waco. Students are urged to attend to support their friends and classmates and help celebrate their achievements.
