The Sandy Sowell Game Show has been around campus many times and is popular event many attend. The event took place on Wednesday with at least eight different people participating, including me and my partner Trevor Wood. Both participating and watching was fun, and Sandy’s jokes kept as all entertained. Attendees from the crowd are asked to participate in the event to win money and possible prizes. Each person is to group up and answer random trivia questions. In turn for answering a question correctly, the attendees would receive points. The group winners had to gain 1200 points to win. Each question was worth about 200-400 points.
This year, questions about movies such as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Frozen” were asked. Other trivia such as naming songs, including “The Simpsons” and “SpongeBob” theme songs. Challenges were included in the rounds; some of the challenges mentioned were hula hooping, balancing metal nuts on a plate, and thrusting basketball. The event took place at the Amphitheatre and a cookout was included. The first-place winners of the show were Ronisha Lawson and Sonya Bennett. Second place winners were Richard Burns and Johnny O’Hara.
The show was overall very entertaining. Sandy was a great game show host who presented herself and the game very well. I hope to see the game show more often, as GSC’s students seemed to love it.
