Student Life personnel at Glenville State College are looking for Student Marshals. A student Marshal's duty is to assist in ceremonies for graduating students and formal events. They also have the duty of carrying banners at special ceremonies. Any other duties of a Marshal are appointed by the President, Vice President of Student Affairs, or Chief Faculty Marshal.

To be elected a Marshal is a great honor and tradition that is practiced by colleges around the world. In medial Europe, a Marshal was known as a high-ranking officer or someone of great importance to the courts. Today, the title of a Marshal still holds true. Marshals are known as leaders, organizers, and informants of the college. They have a responsibility to help and assist anyone in need at special events.

In order to be elected a Marshal for Glenville State College, one must have a good position with the college and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  A Marshal serves for a period of one year, but can be renewed if the rules are kept in good standing. Students that wish to be a Marshal for GSC, must fill and submit an application to Student Life Office by April 8.
