Lumos: The Harry Potter Fan Group welcomes you. Overseen by Dr. Amanda Chapman, the Harry Potter Fan Group called Lumos welcomes long-time fans of the Harry Potter world and those are brand new to the fandom. On the evening of Tuesday, February 26 I was able to attend a group meeting of Lumos to watch and participate in the group activities. Upon walking in I was instantly welcomed by Chapman and the other members of the group. During the meeting we joked, ate some candy, and played a Harry Potter Trivia board game that proved to be a little more difficult than everyone expected. They don’t just test their knowledge on the world of Harry Potter though, other times they’ll find other games to play, watch the Harry Potter films, and even discuss Harry Potter conspiracy theories.

The entire two hours that I was in the room everyone had a smile on their face and the people that I didn’t even know talked to me as if we’d been friends since grade school. I encourage everyone who is a fan of Harry Potter or even interested in learning about the world of Harry Potter to join. The world of Harry Potter is never ending and there will always be room for more fans. Lumos: Harry Potter Fan Group meets on Tuesdays at 6 p.m.-8 p.m. in the AB Building, room 304.
