Glenville State University Student Completes Internship with NASA WV Space Grant Consortium
Natalie Fout, a Secondary Math Education Major at Glenville State University, has successfully completed a transformative internship with the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium (WVSGC) during the summer of 2023. Her role as Outreach Coordinator and Launch Director for the West Virginia Nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project (WVNEBP) marked a significant contribution to this NASA-funded initiative, bringing together 70 atmospheric science and engineering teams from across the nation.

Glenville State University hosted a special open house event aimed at students of Calhoun, Roane, Gilmer, and Braxton counties. This unique occasion provided an excellent opportunity for individuals in the local community to discover the diverse academic programs, resources, and career prospects that Glenville State University has to offer. 
Glenville State University receives Appalachian Collegiate Research Grant
Glenville State University will be one of 13 institutions to receive the Appalachian Collegiate Research Initiative Grant (ARCI) funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission. Dr. Mark Sarver, Associate Professor of Business and Workforce Learning Experiences Manager will lead the student research addressing the need for moderate income housing to attract professional talent to central West Virginia.    Since 2001, more than 22 colleges and universities - and over 2,800 students- from across Appalachia have participated in ARC's Appalachian Collegiate Research Initiative (ACRI). This applied research training program helps Appalachian students conduct research and develop projects supporting economic development in their communities.   
Payton Brown Honored with Prestigious Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Leadership Award
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) is thrilled to announce that Payton Brown has been selected as the recipient of the coveted RMEF Leadership Award for their exceptional contributions to conservation, leadership, and dedication to the role of hunting in conservation efforts. The award includes a $5,000 scholarship, a year's membership to the RMEF, and a feature in the RMEF's esteemed magazine, "The Bugle."

GSU hosted the West Virginia Sheriff’s Association Leadership Academy
Glenville State University hosted the West Virginia Sheriff’s Association Leadership Academy from July 16th-21st, 2023. This year, 92 students from the 55 counties of West Virginia signed up to learn leadership and public safety service skills including K9 deployments, firearms training, physical fitness, CPR/First aid, life skills, crime scene and vehicle accident investigations, and much more.
Glenville State University Ludwik Glass Exhibit and Reception – Museum of American Glass in WV 
Glenville State University is hosting a Museum of American Glass in West Virginia exhibit that highlights the activities of the Ludwik Glass Company in its Fine Arts Building during the first two weeks of the semester. Beginning on Monday, August 14 and ending on Thursday, August 24, the Fine Arts Gallery will be open on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for students, faculty, staff, and the community to see this exhibit. Please also make note that there will be a closing reception on Thursday, August 24 at 4 p.m.
