Honoring Service Members Lost on Memorial Day
Memorial Day is an annual holiday to honor those who died while serving in the United States military. A memorial to the Glenville State College students lost during WWII sits on Clark Hall Lawn, near the Science Hall.
Virtual Commencement Ceremony is May 9 at GSC
The GSC class of 2020 will be recognized as part of the virtual ceremony as they receive their degrees in a variety of programs. The ceremony will be broadcast on GSC’s Facebook page and on the college’s YouTube channel on Saturday, beginning at noon.
Home Grown Initiative Expanding to all 55 Counties
GSC's Home Grown Initiative is focused on prospective teacher identification in the county schools partnered with scholarship support for candidate attendance at GSC, practical experiences, and mentoring during teacher preparation into the start of full-time teaching. The goal is for those students to return to their home counties to student teach and, if available, be able to apply for open positions in their home district.
Marjorie Stewart Featured in Open-Source Textbook
Glenville State College Associate Professor of English Dr. Marjorie Stewart has been featured in a free, open-source textbook for composition courses that has been nearly ten years in the making.
