Lowe to Serve as Field Commander for the Pioneer Marching Band

Glenville State College senior Kristina "Tina" Lowe will be serving as the field commander for the Pioneer ‘Wall of Sound’ Marching Band this semester. The Elizabeth, WV native is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and a minor in business.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the Mountain East Conference’s recent decision to cancel the fall 2020 sports season, Glenville State College will postpone the annual Homecoming Celebration that was scheduled for October 2-4.
Glenville State College Alumna is Safety Officer at Green Bank Observatory

Glenville State College alumnus Emma Yokum is currently serving as the Safety Officer at the Green Bank Observatory. The Observatory is home to the Green Bank Telescope, the largest fully steerable radio telescope in the world.
Update on COVID-19 Testing Results, Screenings at Glenville State College

As of Monday, August 24, Glenville State College has no active COVID-19 cases on campus. This follows testing performed as students were returning to campus for the fall 2020 semester which began on Monday, August 17. Faculty and staff were also tested as part of the lead-up to the new semester.

Little Kanawha Reading Series to Hold Socially Distant Reading at Glenville State

Glenville State College’s Pioneer Stage will be the site of the first Little Kanawha Reading Series event for fall 2020. The writer Danielle Kelly will read her new fiction and there will also be readings from contributors to the 2020 Trillium. It will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 6:00 p.m.
