GSC Criminal Justice Fraternity Takes First Place at Competition
Students in GSC's Criminal Justice Fraternity Sigma Pi Xi recently won first place honors in the crime scene competition at the annual West Virginia Criminal Justice Educators Association conference. The 14 GSC students formed three teams that competed against nine other teams from area colleges at the two-day conference.
GSC Professor Publishes Research on Online and Traditional Learning
Dr. Sherry Jones has published an article in the California State University Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) Journal of Online Learning and Teaching (JOLT). The March 2013 issue of JOLT featured her research paper on the learning equity between online and traditional classroom mathematics courses.
GSC Students Clean Up Little Kanawha River for 'Pioneer Paddle'
Students in Dr. Ross Conover's Ecology Class recently spent over seven hours cleaning up the Little Kanawha River in anticipation of the Pioneer Paddle race. They removed 65 car and truck tires, 15 bags of trash, an old gas tank, and assorted odds and ends.
GSC Professor to Perform with House of Blues Band in Glenville
The N'Tranze Band, featuring Glenville State College Assistant Professor of Music Jason Barr, will give a free concert at GSC's Rusty Musket on Thursday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. followed by an encore performance at the Pioneer Grille Restaurant on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m.

The oil paintings of Joseph Pettit will be on display in front of the GSC Robert F. Kidd Library on Friday, October 4th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Rice Scholarship at GSC Continues to Benefit Central West Virginia Students
Warden and Joanne Rice have huge hearts for the students in Warden's home county of Webster. Over the past seven years, they have encouraged students to complete high school and take sufficient college prep courses. As incentive they inform them of their $2,000 per year college scholarship program GSC.
Glenville State College Marching Band Holds Camp
Members of the Glenville State College marching band returned to campus a week before fall classes began to prepare marching drills, learn new routines, and familiarize themselves with new songs.
