      The Lady Pioneers basketball team was chosen to host the NCAA because they were chosen as the #1 seed of the tournament. The tournament took place on March 15, 16, and 18  at the Waco Center. The first game on Friday consisted of #3 IUP vs. #6 Bowie State, #2 Virginia Union vs. #7 Edinboro, #1 Glenville State vs. #8 West Liberty, #4 California (PA) vs. #5 Charleston. Unfortunately, our Pioneers lost in overtime with many complaints about the quality of the officiating.

 Saturday’s first game consisted of IUP vs. Virginia Union, with IUP coming out on top. The second game consisted of California (PA) vs. Glenville, with California (PA) the winner. The final day took place on Monday,when IUP met Cal of PA. IUP defeated California (PA) and took the place of the NCAA champions.
