Alex Shifler (’09) is a Clear Spring, Maryland native who is currently residing in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Shifler was a Land Surveying major, currently employed with Fox & Associates. During his time as a student, Shifler was a member of the Glenville Track Team, participating in Cross Country.

Notably, he was elected as the Berkley County Surveyor where he served for nine months as well as the county surveyor for the Washington County Board of Commissioners in Maryland. He was also appointed Chapter Chair of the Eastern Panhandle Chapter of West Virginia Society of Professional Surveyors.

When asked what Glenville State means to him Shifler says, “GSC was the place that allowed me to explore hobbies and vocation meanwhile building a social network that is still used today.”
