Warden and Joanne Rice have huge hearts for the students in Warden's home county of Webster. Over the past seven years, they have encouraged students to complete high school and take sufficient college prep courses. As incentive they inform them of their $2,000 per year college scholarship program GSC.
Glenville State College Marching Band Holds Camp
Members of the Glenville State College marching band returned to campus a week before fall classes began to prepare marching drills, learn new routines, and familiarize themselves with new songs.
Move-In Day Kicks Off Fall 2013 Term at GSC
Glenville State College's class of 2017 has arrived on campus for the 2013 fall term. The new Pioneers come from West Virginia, 11 other states, and the District of Columbia.
Fall GSC Classes Offered in Summersville
Residents in and around Nicholas County can again enroll in Glenville State College courses near their homes and jobs. Four GSC courses and a lab will be offered at the Summersville campus of New River Community and Technical College during the fall 2013 semester.
Barker Scholarship Established at GSC
The Don and Mary Jean Barker Scholarship has been established at Glenville State College. It will support students attending GSC from across central West Virginia with an emphasis on education majors.
Denise Ellyson Receives 2013 Barr Award
Denise Ellyson has been selected to receive the 2013 Pete and Betsy Barr Professional Development Award. Ellyson has put the award to good use, attending a training conference for DegreeWorks.
GSC Students Make History at Business Plan Competition Finals
GSC seniors and WV Statewide Collegiate Business Plan Competition finalists Racheal Fetty and Caleb Greathouse made history earlier this year. For the first time since the inception of the competition, a surprise offer of an additional $10,000 investment was made to a runner-up.
