Glenville State College President Dr. Peter Barr has announced the promotions of employees Joe Wilmoth and Tom Ratliff. Wilmoth has been named Assistant Vice President
of Facilities, while Ratliff is now Director of Maintenance and Plant. Barr said, âThese promotions will greatly assist the expected growth, new
construction, and numerous improvements scheduled to take place on our campus in the coming years. I have the utmost confidence in both of these individuals and know they will do a tremendous job.â
Barr says Wilmoth will now be able to work solely on major campus projects including the construction of a new student dorm and the future Pioneer Center as well as create a deferred campus maintenance plan and contribute largely to the overall college master plan. Wilmoth said, âItâs been a real pleasure working with a great crew of hardworking and talented individuals in the Physical Plant for nearly 35 years. However, Iâm looking forward to the challenges of my new position that will allow me to focus more time on improving the campus and implementing preventative maintenance and utility savings plans. Wilmoth was raised in Gilmer County and lives in Normantown with his wife Patricia. They have two children, Andrew Wilmoth and Jennifer Cottrill.
Barr says Ratliff will oversee day-to-day college maintenance needs and staff as well as help plan for future maintenance needs on campus. Ratliff said, âI am excited to further my work at Glenville State College. I welcome the opportunity to not only keep GSC attractive to the local community but also provide facilities that are conducive to learning and working for the students, faculty, and staff.â Along with his new position, Ratliff will continue his duties as Glenville State College Housing Corporation Agent and Project Manager. He was born and raised in Gilmer County and lives in Glenville with his wife Sherry and their two sons Reed and Austin.
