GLENVILLE, WV – Glenville State College President Dr. Peter Barr and his wife Betsy invite GSC faculty, staff, students, and local residents to kick off the holiday season with the eleventh annual GSC Tree Lighting Ceremony to take place on Monday, November 28 at 4:30 p.m. on Clark Hall Lawn. Festivities will continue at 5:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Mollohan Campus Community Center with Santa and Mrs. Claus who will pose for pictures with the kids. Light refreshments also will be served.

Tree Lighting Santa and Mrs. Claus join President Barr and local children at last year's campus tree lighting ceremony

“My wife Betsy started this tradition when we came to Glenville in 2006. It has been exciting to see more and more kids each year at the tree lighting. We love to see the kids in the community grow up and lose their fear of telling Santa Claus their biggest wishes,” said Dr. Barr.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the GSC President’s Office at (304) 462-6100.
