GLENVILLE, WV - Students in the Glenville State College Baptist Campus Ministries (BCM) student organization are collecting winter weather gear that they plan to donate to the Latrobe Street Mission in Parkersburg and the Christian Help Inc. in Morgantown. They are asking for donations of gloves, scarves, blankets, socks, winter coats, hats, hand warmers, and more.

In the future they plan to continue making donations to the two missions at least twice per semester. The group is also planning to help the Parkersburg mission serve meals from their newly constructed soup kitchen that is slated to open in April.

“Our group is blessed to be able to help the less fortunate in this small, but hopefully impactful, way. It brings to mind the quote from Mother Theresa ‘small things done with great love will change the world.’ BCM tries to operate by the motto ‘Changing Lives that Change the World’ and we are hoping to change some lives for the better by providing these warm coats and hats this winter,” said BCM Associate Lance Linden.

Donations can be dropped off during regular BCM meetings on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Mollohan Campus Community Center on campus. You can also contact BCM staff advisor Jenny Boggs at (304) 462-6186 for more information.
