Glenville State College is rolling out the red carpet for prospective students during ‘Spring Preview 2009’ April 20th through 24th. Any high school student who has applied for admission to GSC or who would like to learn more about the college is invited to spend a day on campus.
“Spring Preview 2009 is a wonderful opportunity for students who will be enrolling at Glenville State College next fall, as well as those students who just want to learn more about GSC, to spend a day in an informal relaxed atmosphere experiencing all the tremendous things that GSC has to offer,” said D. Duane Chapman, GSC Vice President for Enrollment Management.
Each day will feature campus tours to introduce students to the GSC campus and let them visit with GSC faculty and students. Testing, advising, preregistration, and Financial Aid sessions will also be available. Incoming freshmen may also get their GSC ID, arrange meal plans, activate their GSC I-mail account, and purchase a parking pass.
Special activities are planned for each day of Spring Preview 2009. On Monday, April 20th spray paint artists Joe & Lefty will be in the GSC Amphitheatre between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Personalized Name Certificates will be available in the Rusty Musket from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21st. GSC celebrates Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Rusty Musket. At 7:00 p.m. that evening, the Fine Arts Auditorium will host ‘GSC’s Got Talent’. Thursday, April 23rd will feature the Sandy Sowell Game Show and a campus picnic in the Amphitheater from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mollohan’s Restaurant will offer a Premium Night dinner from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The Pioneer football team will complete spring practice with the annual Blue & White Game at 6:00 p.m. at Morris Stadium. The GSC Theatre will present ‘As You Like It’ at 7:00 p.m. in the Presidents Auditorium. On Friday, April 24th, a Scavenger Hunt will be held on the GSC campus from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Prospective Glenville State College students and their families are encouraged to pick a day and attend Spring Preview 2009. A limited number of students will be hosted each day, so reservations for a visit should be made as soon as possible.
