GLENVILLE, WV – Students in the Art and Design Program at Glenville State College (GSC) are gaining real-world experience while also showcasing their artwork in the new Pioneer Art Show, which is currently on display in the gallery of the Fine Arts Center.
The Pioneer Art Show features artwork of GSC students. The students are also given the opportunity to learn, with faculty guidance, pricing, presentation, craftsmanship, how to research the market and create items that will appeal to buyers, and other lessons relating to the process of creating and selling art to the consumer.
“The faculty and students have worked hard to make the Pioneer Art Show a reality,” said Associate Professor of Art, Christopher Cosner. “We also want to thank our generous donors who made this possible with monetary, books, and art supply donations to allow the students to offset the cost of creating their art. We hope everyone gets a chance to visit and the opportunity to purchase a variety of unique original art of all kinds.”
The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to follow the College’s social distancing and mask guidelines when visiting the gallery/Pioneer Art Shop. For more information, call (304) 462-6340.
