Glenville, WV—The Fine Arts Gallery at Glenville State College is currently exhibiting the coastal landscape photography of Eleanor N.

A new day, fog

Hall. The black and white collection titled ‘Times, Tides, Seasons,' features sixteen photographs of coastal South Carolina taken at different times of the day, during different seasons of the year. “My photographs are usually rooted in landscape, particularly coastal landscapes. I feast on the inherent qualities within the subject and use it metaphorically. I have been imprinted by this location,” said Hall. Black and white photography has been her primary medium for the past seventeen years.

A native of South Carolina, Hall now lives in her family’s old fishing home near Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet where she devotes her time to her photography and teaching photography part-time at Coastal Carolina University. Hall earned a B.A. in Secondary Art Education from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Education, from Winthrop College. She also has a master of Fine Arts in Photography from Winthrop University. Hall spent many years teaching high school art in South Carolina prior to retiring in 2004.

Hall has received many awards for both her teaching and her photography. In 2001, she traveled to Japan as a recipient of a Fulbright Memorial Teachers Fund Award. In 2006, she won first place at the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild Annual Juried Exhibit in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and won Best of Show at the 2007 event.

‘Times, Tides, Seasons,’ will be on display in the Gallery of the Fine Arts Building at Glenville State College through October 19th. Admission to the exhibit is free and is open for viewing between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibit is also open one hour prior to all performances in the GSC Fine Arts Center. All of the photographs on display as well as a book containing all of the photos can be purchased by contacting the artist at dhall006@sc.rr.com.
