GLENVILLE, WV – The Little Kanawha Players will perform “The Long Christmas Dinner” by Thornton Wilder on Thursday, November 10, Friday, November 11, and Saturday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. each evening in the Glenville State University President’s Auditorium. Admission is free.

“The Long Christmas Dinner” traverses ninety years and represents, in accelerated motion, ninety Christmas dinners in the Bayard family home. The development of the countryside, changes in customs and manners over time, as well as the growth of the Bayards and their accumulation of property vividly sum up wide aspects of American life. A serious but sweet play, the scenes are lightened with humor of character.

The cast includes McKinzie White as Lucia, Alex Sampson as Roderick, Angeles Burgess as Mother Bayard, Cousin Ermengard, and the Nurse, Caleb Skinner as Cousin Brandon and Roderick, Sam Chambers as Charles, Kodie Conrad as Genevieve, Breanna Murphy as Leonora Banning, and Roger Hypes as Samuel.

The play is executive produced by Dr. Gary Morris, produced by Jennifer Wenner, and directed by Dr. Marjorie Stewart and Dr. Brian Johnston. The stage manager is Rebecca Hypes and technical support is provided by Dr. Jonathan Minton. Stage crew members include Hypes and Victoria Osborne.

The Little Kanawha Players are a group composed of Glenville State faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of the community.
