Glenville, WV – The Mountain State Brass Band will be performing in the Glenville State College Fine Arts Center Auditorium on Sunday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by the GSC Fine Arts Department.

The Mountain State Brass Band is a thirty-eight member British brass band. Members of the band come from Clarksburg, St. Albans, Parkersburg, Glenville, and the Charleston area in West Virginia. The group performs a wide variety of musical types from all eras including scores originally written for brass bands, transcriptions of orchestral pieces, and popular music.

“This group wonderfully features the beauty, technical prowess, power, and diversity of the brass family along with percussion accompaniment. This will be their third performance at GSC. Brass bands are becoming increasingly more popular in America as people are discovering the wide array of timbres, technical abilities, expressiveness, and musical styles possible with brass bands,” said Department of Fine Arts Chair Mr. Lloyd Bone.
