GLENVILLE, WV - The Glenville State College Land Resources Department will be the site of a presentation on ecotype variations of tussock cottongrass in varying Alaskan climates. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Thursday, October 22 at 12:15 p.m. in room 227-228 of the Waco Center. The student science and math honor society Chi Beta Phi is co-sponsoring the event along with the GSC Department of Land Resources.
Guest speaker at the event will be Jennifer Chandler who is a biology doctoral candidate at West Virginia University. Chandler describes herself as an ecologist and outdoors enthusiast who is dedicated to a lifetime of learning about our natural world. Her particular interests center on the multidimensional response of forests to both direct and indirect disturbances brought on by events such as timber harvest, insect outbreaks, and climate change.
