Glenville State College Lady Pioneer Basketball Coach Bunky Harkleroad has announced the signing of five new players for his 2010/2011 roster. “We are very pleased with our new recruiting class. We think that we have successfully addressed our needs with a very nice mix of players who complement the outstanding young ladies who are already in the program,” said Harkleroad.

Joining the Lady Pioneers for the upcoming season will be Danielle Woodmore, a 5’4” Division I transfer from Ohio University. She played in 76 games for the Bobcats over the past two seasons, and averaged 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game last season. She resides in Louisville, Kentucky, where she graduated from DuPont Manual High School. An All State and All Region honoree, Woodmore averaged 12.5 points per game during her high school career.

Tenisha Wilson comes to GSC after transferring from Division I Northern Illinois University where she averaged 5.9 points per game. Wilson is a 5’8” swing guard from Chicago. She garnered All Conference, All Area, and All State honors while playing for Bogan High School in Chicago. “I choose Glenville State College because I really liked the atmosphere, players, and coaches. I feel that the strength of my game which is driving to the hoop fits well with Coach Harkleroad’s system,” said the junior who will be majoring in Criminal Justice.

Mishae Miles is a 6’ transfer from Morton Community College in Illinois where she averaged a double-double with 16.2 points and 14.6 rebounds per game. Her efforts earned her a spot on the Skyway Community College Conference All Conference 1st Team. “The fast paced style that the Pioneers play is what attracted me to Glenville State College. I think GSC is the right school for me in both academics and basketball,” she said. Miles will be a post player for Coach Harkleroad and will be majoring in Sports Management.

Incoming freshman Kenyell Goodson has also signed to play for the Pioneers. She is a 5’7’’ shooting guard from Reynoldsburg, Ohio. During her senior season she averaged 11 points per game and set a career 3 point field goal record for Reynoldsburg High School. Goodson earned 2nd Team All Conference and Conference Scholar Athlete Honors. “Kenyell really felt comfortable on her visit to GSC. Coach Harkleroad’s style of play should accentuate her skills as a player,” said her dad Kenneth. Goodson plans on majoring in Business at GSC.

Parkersburg South High School graduate Mary Seagraves comes to GSC after playing in over 100 games during her high school career. In her senior season she averaged over 15 points per game helping her team to a 20-3 record and a trip to the West Virginia State Tournament. Seagraves is a 5’9’’ wing player who will be majoring in Physical Education. She will be joining former Parkersburg South High School players Kim Stephens and Sarah Harvey, who are seniors on the Lady Pioneer team.

Coach Harkleroad led the GSC Lady Pioneer Basketball team to a surprising 18-10 record while establishing several school, WVIAC, and NCAA Division II records. “We are really excited about the future of Lady Pioneer Basketball. These new recruits will certainly help us balance out our roster and allow us build on the success of last season,” he said.

The GSC Lady Pioneers will open the 2010/2011 season on Sunday November 14th when they travel to Maryland to meet Bowie State.
