A recent Glenville State College graduate has received an award from an international publication. Billie Yost received distinctive recognition for her academic achievements while attending GSC. She was recognized on May 1st for her good overall GPA and was nominated by faculty. âI was shocked, I didnât know what it was at firstâ Yost said. The award program is through The Wall Street Journal.
Yost, a Braxton county native, received a commemorative award medallion, a one-year subscription to The Wall Street Journal in both print and online, and a congratulatory letter from the WSJ. Yost said, âThe medallion sits on my desk at work. It is a great achievement; I am very pleased with it.â
Yost graduated from GSC on May 12th with a Bachelorâs of Science degree in Business Administration majoring in management and marketing. She also completed a computer and information systems minor. She now works as an advertising assistant at Viking Pools in Jane Lew in Lewis County, West Virginia.
The Student Achievement Award is a collaborative effort between GSC and The Journal. The WSJ has honored exceptional students with the Student Achievement Award since 1948. Hundreds of colleges and universities throughout the United States have given this award to distinguish their most accomplished students. This award enhances the schoolâs reputation in the business and academic communities. The Wall Street Journal publishes the winnerâs name and institution in a full-page announcement in Journal.
