Las Vegas, NV â A Glenville State College student has represented her school and the Mountain State very well in the Ms. United States pageant. Ms. West Virginia, Holli Owens, says she finished second in the pageant held in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, August 1st. Owens said, "I was the first-runner-up, while Ms. Florida won the crown."
Owens did win a modeling competition held for the contestants on Monday night, July 30. As a result, she receives a modeling contract and will be on the cover of the Supermodels Unlimited magazine later this year. âI was so excited! I will be featured inside the magazine as well as on the cover!â said Owens.
Owens traveled to Nevada on July 26th for the national pageant, and competitions started on July 28th. "It's been a fun and busy week, and I'm very exhausted," said Owens. The pageant was taped and may air on television at a later date.
Owens is a junior accounting major at Glenville State College. She is also a Tucker County native from Parsons.
