MLBC Land Resources Donation

GLENVILLE, WV - The Glenville State College Land Resources Department recently received $5,000 from the Michael Late Benedum Chapter (MLBC) of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) for use in supporting student scholarships. The MLBC has been an avid supporter of the GSC Landman program having provided $20,000 over the past five years.

"I applaud the MLBC’s and Cindy Torbeck's continued support of the Landman program within the Department of Land Resources. The scholarships will help ensure that high-quality students are attracted to the Landman profession and will receive exceptional preparation for their careers," said GSC Land Resources Department Chair and Professor of Natural Resource Management Dr. Milan Vavrek.

In addition to presenting Vavrek with a check from the AAPL, Torbeck also personally contributed $1,000 to the scholarship fund. Torbeck graduated from Glenville State College in 1991 with a degree in forest technology and is the incoming vice president for the MLBC. She currently serves as CEO at Hawkeye Research in Harrisville, West Virginia.
