Glenville, WVâGlenville State College students are being rewarded for registering early for classes. GSC student James
Caudill is the winner of the spring 2008 pre-registration Get Really Rich On Graduation Day contest. Caudill won $5,000 in a random drawing of all GSC students who pre-registered early for the 2008 spring semester. The money will be awarded to Caudill when he graduates in May 2008 with a Social Science Degree with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. âI was really surprised and excited to learn that I won the contest. I plan to use the $5,000 to return to Glenville and further my education by obtaining a Psychology Degree.
Caudill hopes to become a West Virginia State Trooper after completing his education at GSC. Caudill is from Clay County and came to Glenville State College to play football. He has one more year of football eligibility, so he plans on returning next fall even though he will graduate in May. âI love the student life and overall atmosphere here. GSC is what you make it, and it has been great for me,â said Caudill. James is the son of Larry and Patty Caudill of Clay, West Virginia.
In addition to the $5,000 grand prize won by Caudill, eighteen other GSC students won $100 in daily drawings for the Get Rich Now contest during the early pre-registration period. Those lucky GSC students are: Douglas A. Seckman, Erin R. Anderson, Rachel Burkett, Marlena N, Chestnut, Jeffery M. Taylor, Justine V. Mclaurin, Levi J. Moore, Christina N. Smith, Elsie B. Deeds, Dustin W. Reed, Suzanna E. Brown, Jeremy D. Nugent, Isac R. Osborne, Nora J Hall, Randolph A. Adkins, Laurie M. Rodriquez, Anthony D. Hale, and Luella J. Dancy.
Among the goals of the Get Rich Now and Get Really Rich on Graduation Day contests is to increase academic planning and promote student retention.
