purple decor on Wednesday, February 24th. ‘Purple 101’ is celebrated on hundreds of college campuses on the fourth Wednesday of every February to raise money for the American Cancer Society. GSC committee members volunteered their time to sell luminaries, raffle tickets, window clings, t-shirts, and many more Relay for Life related items. For a donation, students could participate in karaoke in the Rusty Musket café. There was also a table set up to sign up teams and team members for the Glenville State College Relay for Life event in April.

Emaleigh McCroskey and Christine Delay, two GSC freshmen from the events committee, worked at the ‘Purple 101’ luminary decorating booth. “I relay for my best friend who is battling cervical cancer right now. I want to do my part to help cure the disease,” said McCroskey. Delay said, “I want to encourage others on campus to get involved with Relay for Life. My grandmother passed away from breast cancer and I know many others who have been affected in a similar way.”
