The Glenville State College Lady Pioneer basketball team is now in Kearney, Nebraska to compete in the NCAA Division II National Tournament after winning the East Region Tournament on March 12th. Twenty players, coaches, and trainers boarded a bus at noon on Monday, March 19th. Local law enforcement escorted the bus (pictured) out of Glenville as it left Gilmer County to travel to Charleston. The team then boarded a chartered jet bound for Nebraska. About fifty fans then departed from the Harrison-Marion Regional Airport at about 10:00 on Tuesday morning, March 20th. The second chartered jet passengers included team relatives, fans, athletic supporters, and college representatives including GSC President Dr. Peter Barr. The Lady Pioneers will face UC San Diego in their first tournament game on Wednesday, March 21st.

Assistant Coach Dennis Fitzpatrick says the first game will be on Wednesday, March 21st at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. A victory that afternoon will then take the Lady Pioneers to their second game on Thursday, March 22nd at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, which will air on ESPNU. Another win that night will lead the team to the final game on Saturday, March 24th at 6:00 p.m. Eastern and air on ESPN2.
