Glenville, WVâGlenville State College will be hosting dozens of potential employers during the annual GSC Career Fair. This yearâs event will take place on Tuesday, February 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom. Last year, representatives from more than sixty employers attended the Career Fair, and even more are expected for the 2008 event.
A wide range of prospective employers representing business, education, teaching, social sciences, nursing, natural resources, land resources, and many more will be on hand to meet with students. âThis is a great opportunity for students to find out what types of jobs are available, what qualifications are necessary, and how to begin the employment hunting process,â said Amy Fiddler, Director of the GSC Academic Support Center. The Energy Express program and the West Virginia State Parks will also have representatives discussing summer employment opportunities.
Seniors who will be graduating and entering the job market are urged to attend. However, the Career Fair can also be a valuable opportunity for any student regardless of class. The public is also welcome to visit. âThis is a time that any student can use to make contacts and start networking with prospective employers and other people in their field of specialization. I know of students who have changed majors after attending the Career Fair and finding out what jobs are available,â said Fiddler.
