GLENVILLE, WV - On Tuesday, November 28 Glenville State College will take part in the Day of Giving, a one-day fundraising event, for the first time. Everyone in the Pioneer family is encouraged to participate in Giving Tuesday. Nationwide, the Day of Giving harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity on a grand scale.
“As we prepare for this day and look to launch this new initiative, I hope we can count on the support of our alumni and donors. We have already challenged our Board of Governors, Foundation Board, Alumni Council, and our students, faculty, and staff to all be part of this campaign,” said Interim Vice President for College Advancement Dave Hutchison. “All donations are tax-deductible and the money raised is invested directly into the students and employees at GSC, supporting academic scholarships, faculty/staff development, the Pioneer Student Emergency Fund, or the individual department of your choice,” he added.
Giving is easy. Click here to donate or call (304) 462-6381 to learn more.
In the afternoon of November 28, GSC will host a thank you reception in the Waco Center Atrium between 2:00-4:00 p.m. All donors are invited to attend.
“We hope this event inspires people to take collective action to help Glenville State. Decreased state funding means that events like these are even more important than before, but rest assured that we continue to focus on providing a quality education while striving to make college more affordable for students and their families,” Hutchison said.
