The Glenville State College High Adventure Program has announced the schedule of activities for the Fall 2008 semester. Outings have been planned that offer students, faculty and staff an opportunity to enjoy rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, paintball, canoeing, horseback riding, and skiing. âThe fall is a wonderful time in West
Virginia. I encourage students to come out and enjoy some of these great outdoor experiences,â said David Bernier, Director of the GSC High Adventure Program. The GSC High Adventure Schedule includes eleven exciting trips:
Pickens Hall rappel 8/20, New River raft trip 8/30, New River Gorge rock climb 9/14, Paintball at Scary Creek 9/21, Gauley River raft trip 9/27, Canoe trip 10/5, Horseback trail ride 10/12, Via Feratta rock climb 10/26, Cave trip 11/9, Mountain bike trip 11/16, Snowshoe ski trip 12/13.
High Adventure outings are open to all GSC students, faculty and staff. All activities are geared toward beginners so no experience is necessary. All trips include a trip fee which covers lessons, transportation, park fees, permits, rental fees, and guiding services when required. High Adventure provides the equipment needed for the activities or rents necessary gear for the trip.
Most High Adventure Excursions are limited as to the number that can participate, so students are encouraged to sign up early to reserve their spot. To sign up for a trip, get itineraries and trip information stop by the High Adventure office in the fitness complex on the lower level of the Mollohan Campus Community center.
