The Glenville State College Fine Arts Gallery is displaying an exhibition of contemporary prints made by West Virginia University printmaking alumni and former professors in the collection ‘From the Muddy Banks of the Monongahela.’ The pieces are diverse and represent the expertise of the artists. Though many of the artists are now scattered across the nation, this collection connects them to the state of West Virginia.
“I am impressed by the various ingenious interpretations of one central theme. These artists enlighten and find humor in a subject that we are familiar with in West Virginia but maybe sometimes take for granted,” said GSC Assistant Professor of Art Liza Brenner.
The show will be open until October 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is also open one hour before all GSC Fine Arts events. An opening reception will be held for the show in the GSC Fine Arts Building Gallery on Monday, September 13 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with refreshments served.
