Normantown, WV--The Glenville State College football team is taking a break from practice to help a Gilmer County school. GSC football players have been volunteering at Normantown Elementary School which has been affected by a mold problem. The team spent Tuesday and Wednesday morning moving furniture out of the rooms affected by the mold. They then moved the desks, chairs, and other items into the cafeteria, gym, and auditorium, which are in separate buildings and may serve as temporary classrooms for the upcoming school year.
Mold has been a problem on the schoolâs first floor for the past year, but it has spread and is now found on all three floors. Gilmer County Schools Superintendent Ed Toman, who is a Glenville State College graduate, has many options on the table for the students at the elementary school, but right now he is waiting to hear back from the state.
