Glenville, WVâA reception honoring December graduates of Glenville State College was
held on Thursday evening, December 6th at the Mollohan Campus Community Center. Family, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to congratulate the students who have completed their degrees at GSC.
GSC professors introduced the students graduating from their programs and wished them well. Glenville State College President Dr. Peter Barr told those in attendance how proud they should be of the accomplishments of the graduates. âWhat you have achieved here at Glenville should not be under estimated. Take all that you have learned and use it to become successful in your chosen field and expand on the number of GSC graduates making their mark all over the country,â said Barr.
Casey Taylor of Sinks Grove, West Virginia is graduating with a Bachelorâs Degree in Education with a
specialization in Physical Education and Health said, âI canât believe it is over. The time really went quickly. Now I have to get out and find a job.â Caseyâs parents, Fred and Doris Taylor, made the long trip from Monroe County for the reception. It is the same long trip they made countless times to watch their daughter as a standout player on the ultra successful Lady Pioneer Basketball Team.
Approximately seventy-two students will receive their diplomas once final semester grades are completed. There is no formal graduation ceremony for the mid-year grads. Those who wish to will take part in the Class of 2008 graduation ceremonies in May.
