GLENVILLE, WV - The Glenville State College Trumpet and Brass Ensembles were both recently invited to perform at the West Virginia Music Educators Association (WVMEA) Annual In-Service Conference which was held at the Charleston Civic Center. The GSC Trumpet Ensemble was directed by Professor Emeritus Harry Rich and the GSC Brass Ensemble was directed by Department of Fine Arts Chair Dr. Lloyd E. Bone Jr.; both groups performed on Friday, March 11. The annual conference is the largest statewide music event in West Virginia.
âIt was an honor to be invited to perform at the conference. And, as always, we had a very large group of GSC music alumni who turned out to hear us perform and it was great to catch-up with so many of them. It also was good exposure for our department with many other music educators in attendance from around West Virginia,â said Bone.
For more information about either of the ensembles and their performances at the WVMEA conference, other music performance groups at GSC, or the Fine Arts Department in general, call (304) 462-6340.
