The Bel Meadow golf course near Clarksburg hosted a four-man scramble on Monday, July 21st to benefit the Glenville State College Men’s Basketball Program.
Ten teams participated in the event with the top three teams receiving prices. The team of Fred Smith, Ed Jett, Lester Brown, and Larry Kersey won the tournament with a tremendous score of 17 under par on the par 72 course. The first place prize was $500. The tournament also included skill prizes, many door prizes, and lunch following the golf.
“We really appreciate the support of all the hole sponsors and everyone that golfed. “We raised around $2,000 that will be used to fund scholarships for the Pioneer Basketball Team,” said GSC Head Men’s Basketball Coach Dwaine Osborne.
