Fall Interns Complete Student Teaching for GSC

GLENVILLE, WV - Nineteen students have completed their student teaching internships for Glenville State College and participated in December Graduation.

Misty Alderman Misty Alderman

Misty Alderman completed her student teaching in Early Education (PreK-K), Elementary Education (K-6), and Multi-Categorical Special Education (K-6) at Glade Creek Elementary School with Lauren Walton and Michelle Vickers. Dr. Tara Cosco and Frances Fry were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Mike and Donna Postalwait of Summersville, West Virginia. She resides in Canvas, West Virginia with her husband TJ and children Kandy, Kobe, and Karlee.

Marcella Bragg Marcella Bragg

Marcella Bragg completed her student teaching in Early Education (PreK-K) and Elementary Education (K-6) at Gauley River and Cherry River Elementary Schools with Teresa Brown, Sarah Weber, and Barbara Vest. Frances Fry was her GSC supervisor. She is the daughter of Otis Reed of Craigsville, West Virginia and Barbara Lowery-Wooten of Tornado, West Virginia. She resides in Craigsville with her husband Shawn and children Cody Bragg and Kala Bragg-Hinkle.

Erin Bush Erin Bush

Erin Bush completed her student teaching in Music Education (PreK-adult) at Leading Creek Elementary School, Roanoke Elementary School, and Ritchie County Middle and High School with Whitney Ballard and Scott Tignor. Dr. Shara Curry, Dr. David Lewis, and Dr. John Taylor were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of David and Patty Bush of Pittsfield, Pennsylvania.

Courtney Cole Courtney Cole

Courtney Cole completed her student teaching in Music Education (PreK-adult) at Doddridge County High School and Peterson Elementary School with Shaylyn Dabbs and Andrea Heath. Dr. David Lewis, Dr. John Taylor, and Dr. Shara Curry were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of John and Regina Cole of Lizemores, West Virginia.

Chelsea Dorsey Chelsea Dorsey

Chelsea Dorsey completed her student teaching in Music Education (PreK-adult) at Nicholas County High School and Glenville, Sand Fork, and Normantown Elementary Schools with Jason Hypes and Judy Leggett. Dr. Shara Curry, Dr. David Lewis, and Frances Fry were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Sara Legg and Bryon Dorsey of Summersville, West Virginia.

Bethany Frymier Bethany Frymier

Bethany Frymier completed her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) and Social Studies Education (5-9) at Sand Fork Elementary School and Robert L. Bland Middle School with Connie Grogg and Becky Stalnaker. Dr. Shara Curry and Dr. John Taylor were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Brett and Karin Miller of Shock, West Virginia. She resides in Coxs Mills, West Virginia with her husband Zach.

Clair Gilbert completed her student teaching in English Education (5-9) at Gilmer County High School with Kristen Smith and Grace Wine. Dr. Melody Wise and Don Sheets were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Kathy and Tom Gilbert of Glenville, West Virginia.

Michelle Hall completed her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) and General Math-Algebra I (5-9) at Glenville Elementary School and Gilmer County High School with Kim Cottrill and Kelly Barr. Dr. Shara Curry and Joseph Wood were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Rick and Patricia Hall of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia.

Betul Kudurogianis Betul Kudurogianis

Betul Kudrogianis completed her student teaching in Mathematics Education (5-adult) at Summersville Middle School and Richwood High School with Anita Jarrett, Shannon Keenan, and Brian McPherson. Frances Fry and Joseph Wood were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Yuksel-Ayhan Erkmenol of Izmir, Turkey. She resides in Summersville with her husband Peter Kudurogianis and son Ozan Ozbeker.

Sarah Lane Sarah Lane

Sarah Lane completed her student teaching in Early Education (PreK-K), Elementary Education (K-6), and General Math-Algebra I (5-9) at Pleasant Hill Elementary and Calhoun Middle High School with Vicki Hardway and Amy Nicholas. Dr. Shelly Ratliff, Dr. Shara Curry, and Joseph Wood were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Maxine and Milton Lane of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia.

Maygon Mollohan Maygon Mollohan

Maygon Mollohan completed her student teaching in Health and Physical Education (PreK-adult) at Glenville Elementary School and Gilmer County High School with Diana Sharps and Amy Chapman. Janet Bailey was her GSC supervisor. She is the daughter of Terry and Stephanie Mollohan of Clear Creek, West Virginia. Mollohan was also named Outstanding Student Teacher of the fall semester by the education honor society Kappa Delta Pi.

Steven Pifer Steven Pifer

Steven Pifer completed his student teaching in General Science (5-adult) and Chemistry and Physics (9-adult) at Gilmer County High School with Monica Haley and Faith Harper. Dr. Joe Evans and Don Sheets were Pifers’s GSC supervisors. He is the son of Terri and Tom Giffin of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Steven and Karry Pifer of Hagerstown, Maryland. He currently resides in Glenville with his wife Kara and daughters Aubrey and Amariah.

Renee Ritenour Renee Ritenour

Renee Ritenour completed her student teaching in Music Education (PreK-adult) at Lewis County High School and Glenville, Sand Fork, and Normantown Elementary Schools with Tina Norman and Judy Leggett. Dr. David Lewis, Dr. Shara Curry, and Dr. John Taylor were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Jane Arnett and Gary Ritenour of Kearneysville, West Virginia.

Jade Spencer Jade Spencer

Jade Spencer completed her student teaching in Early Education (PreK-K) and Elementary Education (K-6) at Burnsville Elementary School with Sherri Stalnaker and Joyce Stump. Frances Fry was her GSC supervisor. She is the daughter of James and Karen Spencer of Waverly, West Virginia.

Kari Sprouse Kari Sprouse

Kari Sprouse completed her student teaching in Early Education (PreK-K) and Elementary Education (K-6) at Sand Fork Elementary School with Ronni Facemire and Tonya Stewart. Dr. Shelly Ratliff was her GSC supervisor. She is the daughter of Lisa Landis of Normantown, West Virginia. She resides in Glenville, West Virginia with her husband Brian.

Dylan Vaughan Dylan Vaughan

Dylan Vaughan completed his student teaching in Early Education (PreK-K) and Elementary Education (K-6) at Big Otter Elementary School with Molly Chapman, Sharon Helmick, and Anissa Collins. Frances Fry was his GSC supervisor. He is the son of Tom and Karen Vaughan of Big Otter, West Virginia.

Tanner Wright Tanner Wright

Tanner Wright completed his student teaching in Social Studies (5-9) and General Math-Algebra l (5-9) at Gilmer County High School and Braxton County Middle School with Karen McClain and Pam White. Dr. Shara Curry and Joseph Wood were his GSC supervisors. He is the son of Donald and Kelly Wright of Clarington, Ohio.

Amara Yoak Amara Yoak

Amara Yoak completed her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) and General Math-Algebra I (5-9) at Glenville Elementary School and Gilmer County High School with Amanda Poole and Tracy Ferguson. Don Sheets and Joseph Wood were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of David and Melissa Yoak of Grantsville, West Virginia.

Kathryn Younts Kathryn Younts

Kathryn Younts completed her student teaching in Mathematics Education (5-adult) at Richwood Middle School and Nicholas County High School with Lutrisha Little and Jim Fox. Frances Fry and Joseph Wood were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of James and Lou Ann Younts of Nettie, West Virginia.

Senior teacher education students take part in an internship during their final semester at GSC. At the conclusion of their internship students must complete a presentation illustrating their mastery of the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) standards as well as the standards of their particular area of study.
