GLENVILLE, WV - Glenville State College student Jessica DiGennaro will be performing her senior recital on Sunday, October 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
DiGennaro’s primary instrument is the oboe, but she also plays the piccolo, flute, and English horn. She will be accompanied Tabitha Cochrum on the piano. Those attending the recital can expect to hear a variety of musical literature ranging from classical pieces to more modern styles with jazz influences.
“I would like to give a shout out to Dr. [David] Lewis for helping me throughout these past four years. I would also would like to thank Dr. Lewis for continuing to teach me more about the oboe and helping me grow into the musician that I am today,” she said.
A Music Education (PreK-adult) major, she grew up in Kirkwood, New York and is the daughter of Dan and Tayna DiGennaro. She is the former president of GSC’s chapter of the National Association of Music Educators and serves as the current treasurer of the organization. She also serves as the secretary for Phi Beta Lambda (PBL).
“I am very excited for everyone to hear my senior recital. A lot of hard work has gone into this recital over the past four years and I cannot wait for students and the public to hear my recital. I am very grateful for the memories and support that I have received from Glenville throughout these years. These memories will never be forgotten,” DiGennaro said.
DiGennaro will be participating in the Disney College Program in Florida in spring 2020 before returning to GSC to complete her student teaching the following semester.
The recital is free to attend and open to the public.
