Glenville, WV--High school students can become better prepared to take the most preferred college entrance exam just by camping this summer at Glenville State College. GSC is offering Camp ACT to help students increase their scores in the ACT test areas of English, math, reading, science, and writing.
Event coordinator, Chris Schimmel, who is also GSC’s Off-Campus Programming Director, says any students who want to improve their ACT exam scores should consider attending. Schimmel said, “Whether they are planning to re-take the ACT or if preparing to take the ACT for the first time, Glenville State College will provide the appropriate academic sessions taught by experienced, qualified instructors.”
Schimmel says even students who are unsure about whether or not they plan to pursue post-secondary education may want to consider attending Camp ACT. “Students score better on exams such as the ACTS while the skills they are acquiring in high school are still fresh,” said Schimmel.
Camp ACT will take place at Glenville State College on August 3rd and 4th. The cost of attending is $30, which includes several ACT preparation sessions, all meals and snacks, a one night’s stay in a GSC Residence Hall, and recreational activities organized by the campus’ Student Life Office. Students who return for the August 23rd follow-up session from 4-6 p.m. will receive free admission to and free refreshments at Glenville State College’s home football game later that evening.
The ACT test will be given at GSC on September 15th. For more information or to register for Camp ACT, contact Chris Schimmel by e-mail at Christine.Schimmel@glenville.edu or by phone at (304) 462-7361x7124.
