Business Department Recognizes Distinguished Students

GLENVILLE, WV – The Glenville State College Business Department recently announced its list of Distinguished Business Students for 2016. Recognition of these top twenty-four business students is based on multiple criteria including academic achievement, class rank, campus involvement, and leadership in department classes and programs. Additionally, some students are recognized for specific departmental awards.

Distinguished Business Students included: Conner Ferguson from Glenville, West Virginia; Samantha Brookover from Auburn, West Virginia; Elizabeth Jackson from Frametown, West Virginia; Moriah Creelfox from Orma, West Virginia; Brett Rinehart from Cumberland, Maryland; Kristen Meadows from Gassaway, West Virginia; Sean Steele from Chickasha, Oklahoma; Erica Whitney from Strange Creek, West Virginia; Connie Roberts from Sutton, West Virginia; Emily Snyder from Grantsville, West Virginia; Cam Kinder from Glenville, West Virginia; and David Malcomb from Strange Creek, West Virginia.

Specific award winners included:

Ernest H. Smith Award - Valeri Sprouse of Glenville, West Virginia

Freshman with the Highest Major Fields Test Score Award - Luke Carpenter of Glen Daniel, West Virginia

Senior with the Highest Major Fields Test Score Award - Tyler Steele of Stouts Mills, West Virginia

Best Business 193 Service Learning Team Award - Mckenzie Edmonds of Clendenin, West Virginia and Dante Absher of Sterling, Virginia

Outstanding Resort Area Management Student Award - Cami Roberts of Sutton, West Virginia

Outstanding Computer Science Student Award - Bryan Foster of Jacksonville, Florida

Outstanding Management Student Award - Caleb Cline of Gassaway, West Virginia

Outstanding Marketing Student Award - Hunter Given of Cowen, West Virginia

Outstanding Sport Management Student Award - Nathan Kincaid of Summersville, West Virginia

Outstanding Accounting Student Award - Kathy Childers of Spencer, West Virginia

Outstanding Intern Award - Stephen Mickle of Woodbridge, Virginia
